Police: Fire at Green Acres Mall food court
A small grease fire at a restaurant in the food court at Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream sent some shoppers rushing for the exits on Saturday afternoon, officials said.
The fire was sparked at the mall’s Wendy’s at about 3:15 p.m., a Nassau County police spokeswoman said.
Firefighters rushed to the mall and ordered a partial evacuation of the shopping center, officials said.
The fire was extinguished a short time later and shoppers were allowed back inside, police said.
No injuries were reported.
