A Freeport man died Wednesday in an industrial accident in Farmingdale, crushed to death, police said, by two 800-pound slabs of quartzite.

Suffolk County police identified the victim as Hector Vicenty, 52, who was working at European Granite & Marble Group on Dubon Court when he was crushed at 2:12 p.m.

Vicenty was rushed to St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage, where he was pronounced dead.

Details of the accident were not immediately available.

Police said investigators from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration responded and the accident remains under investigation.
