A 25-year-old Garden City man was arrested Monday night after police said he caused a disturbance at a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in Westbury, then assaulted four Nassau County police officers as they tried to interview him.
Brian J. Pfail, of 35 Roxbury Rd., was charged with four counts of second-degree assault, as well as third-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest, police said.
Police said Third Precinct officers were called to the restaurant on Merrick Avenue at about 10:15 p.m. after the manager reported a patron had "kicked one of the glass doors, causing damage" -- then fled through the rear parking lot.
Officers located Pfail on nearby Corporate Drive and attempted to interview him.
But police said Pfail became "aggressive, yelling obscenities," then struck one officer in the head. A struggle ensued. A second officer was punched in the nose and bitten on his left arm, police said.
A sergeant suffered what police called "multiple abrasions and a swollen left hand."
A fourth officer was kicked in the stomach, police said.
All four officers were transported to a hospital, where they were treated and released. All injuries were minor.
At arraignment Tuesday in Hempstead, Nassau District Court Judge Anna Anzalone ordered Pfail held on $35,000 bond or cash bail.
