Police: Gunman robs bank in Roslyn
Police are searching for a man who robbed a Roslyn bank at gunpoint Thursday evening, stealing cash after forcing a female employee to open the door to the teller stations.
Nassau County police said the armed robbery took place at the Citibank branch on Northern Boulevard at 5:50 p.m. There were six employees in the bank at the time, police said. Police said no customers were present. There were no reported injuries.
Police said the robber wore dark clothing and a hat and had long black hair and a black beard. He displayed a gun, police said, then ordered the employees to get on the floor.
The robber then "forced a female employee to open the door to the teller stations," police said. The suspect fled on foot, but police did not detail how much money was stolen.
Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
