Police: Hempstead man arrested in stabbing of two men
A Hempstead man has been arrested on assault charges after stabbing two men Sunday morning outside his apartment, Nassau County police said.
Angel Ortiz, 28, of 17 Saint Pauls Rd., confronted two men outside his apartment at about 8:30 a.m., police said. He allegedly stabbed one victim in the back and in the wrist, police said.
One of the stabbing victims went back to his residence, where he was found bleeding in a bedroom. The other man went to a relative's apartment.
Both were taken to an area hospital where they were admitted, police said. No other information on the medical conditions of the victims was available, police said.
Ortiz is charged with assault and two counts of possession of a dangerous weapon. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
