Police: Holbrook man faces DWI and drug charges

A Holbrook man stopped for speeding Friday on the Southern State Parkway in North Bellmore faces charges of drunken driving and possession of cocaine, state police said.
Matthew Bunora, 37, was pulled over for driving a red Mercedes 81 mph in a posted 55 mph zone near Exit 25, Newbridge Road, at about 10:59 p.m., police said.
Troopers said they detected a strong odor of alcohol as they interviewed Bunora and that he failed sobriety tests.
Troopers said Bunora also had 2.8 grams of cocaine and provided a breath-analyzer reading of .13 percent.
He is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, DWI and traffic violations.
His arraignment information at First District Court in Hempstead was not immediately available.
