A 53-year-old homeless man was found dead in sub-freezing temperatures behind a Dunkin' Donuts in East Meadow last Sunday, Nassau County police said.

The man, whom police did not identify, was found at 3:42 a.m. Jan. 19 in the parking lot behind 2080 Hempstead Tpke., police said Saturday.

Temperatures in the area that morning were below 30 degrees.

Police did not disclose a cause of death.

The man was known to friends as "Wild Bill" and often found shelter in buildings along Hempstead Turnpike, according to News 12 Long Island.
