Police: Homeowner scares away thieves
Two burglars who forced their way into a home in University Gardens Monday evening fled without taking anything after they were surprised by the homeowner, police said.
Nassau County police said the incident occurred on Dorset Road at about 7:30 p.m.
They said the burglars, wearing all-black outfits and ski masks, were startled when the 63-year-old homeowner came upstairs to investigate noise.
Police said the two burglars entered the home after forcing open a rear door. No one was injured in the incident.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the burglary to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
