Police are searching for two men who they said robbed a Marshalls store at gunpoint Sunday evening in Freeport.

The gunmen held the store manager and security guard at gunpoint during the robbery, forcing the manager to open a safe -- taking an undetermined amount of cash, Nassau County police said. No one was injured in the robbery, which took place at 8:40 p.m. in the store on Sunrise Highway near the Meadowbrook Parkway.

Police said the robbers fled in a Toyota sedan onto adjacent Buffalo Avenue.

No other details were immediately available.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
