A man found dead in the trunk of a parked car in Oceanside had been visiting his Brooklyn sister from Florida, New York City police said Sunday.

The man, identified as Daniel Scialom, 32, was reported missing to the NYPD's 62nd precinct in Brooklyn by his sister on April 14.

He was found shot to death a day later in a 2011 Hyundai Sonata parked on Academy Street off Long Beach Road, authorities said.

Scialom's sister said she last saw her brother on April 12 around 9:30 p.m. and said he borrowed a friend's rental car, police said.

A Fourth Precinct cop had been called to the scene initially to investigate a possibly stolen vehicle, Nassau County police said.

A Nassau County homicide detective said officers opened the trunk because there was blood on the front passenger seat.

Authorities declined to say how police knew to check on the car in the first place.
