Police investigate armed robbery of 99 Cent Time in Elmont

Two men, armed with a handgun, robbed a 99-cent store in Elmont Tuesday, striking a clerk in the head with the gun before fleeing, police said.
Nassau County police are searching for the two assailants -- and are asking your help in locating the suspects.
The robbery at 99 Cent Time on Elmont Road took place at 9:38 p.m., police said.
Police said the two suspects -- one, believed to be about 30 years old, 6-feet tall with a medium build, wearing a black hooded jacket; the other, about 20 years old, 5 feet, 6 inches tall with a medium build and wearing a blue hooded jacket -- then demanded cash, pistol-whipped the clerk in the head, took money from the register and fled. The clerk suffered a laceration to his head and was transported to a hospital for treatment, police said.
Police said there were two other employees in the store, but said neither was injured.
It was not clear how much money was taken.
