The First Squad is investigating a robbery that took place Friday afternoon in Baldwin, where a teenage boy walking on Grand Avenue was approached by a man and a woman who displayed a handgun, threatened him, grabbed the boy's iPhone and ran off.

The victim, 16, said he had been walking south on Grand between Riverside and Thomas avenues at 4:55 p.m. when the suspects "told the victim to get off the phone or they were going to shoot him," a Monday police report said.

"At this time the female suspect displayed the butt of a handgun which was tucked in her waistband," the report said. "The male suspect grabbed the victim's cellphone and both suspects fled on foot northbound on Grand Avenue."

The male suspect was described as being 5-foot-9, 170 pounds, wearing dark shorts, a red shirt and a red and black hat. The female suspect was described as 5-foot-4, 150 pounds, wearing dark pants, and a black shirt with white and gray stripes.

Detectives ask anyone with information about this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
