Police responding to a shot spotter notification and a 911 call for shots fired in Freeport found bullet holes in a building, a glass door and an awning Saturday and are searching for the shooter — or shooters.

The shots were reported on Sept. 11 at 9:40 p.m. along Broadway in Freeport, Nassau County police said.

At 56 Broadway, police said they found the bullet holes and witnesses told responding officers that the shots following what police termed “a verbal altercation” between “two groups of males congregating” near the location.

Police are asking that anyone with information contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
