Police looking for Cedarhurst robber
A man was knocked unconscious and robbed early Friday in Cedarhurst, Nassau County police said.
The 48-year-old victim was on Summit Avenue at the corner of Washington Avenue about 2 a.m. when an unknown man approached, asking to borrow a cellphone, police said.
When the victim refused, the suspect hit him over the left eye and nose with an unknown object, knocking him unconscious.
The victim's wallet and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen. He was treated at a hospital for a broken nose and cuts and bruises, police said.
The suspect is described as 18 to 20 years old, about 5-foot-6, unshaven with short, dirty-blond hair. He has a heavy build, and wore blue jeans, a green shirt and denim jacket.
