A man who assaulted two 16-year-old boys with a baseball bat as they walked down a street in Lynbrook two weeks ago was charged in connection with that attack, Nassau County police said.

John Santos, 20, of Derby Street, Valley Stream, was charged with second-degree assault and second-degree menacing Wednesday. He was scheduled for arraignment Thursday in First District Court, Hempstead.

Police said Santos was with a group of eight or nine others when he attacked the boys as they walked along Wright Avenue near Leaman Place on May 15 at about 11:30 p.m.

None of the others have been arrested.

Police said one of the victims was treated at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside for undisclosed injuries. The other refused medical treatment, police said.
