Nassau police arrested a Setauket man Monday on charges he possessed child pornography.

Police charged Edward Weisinger, 45, with five felony counts of possessing sexual performance of a child.

Police said Weisinger had left a computer memory card at the home of a Franklin Square resident. That resident found the card, viewed its contents and called police.

Officers then obtained a search warrant for the card, which, after examination, contained child pornography, police said.

Nassau police, with the assistance of Suffolk police, arrested Weisinger at his home. He was taken to a hospital for an evaluation due to an existing medical condition and will be arraigned as soon as medically practical, police said.
