The handle of the gun was protruding from his pants, Nassau County police said.

Now, Jarrot Jones, 21, of Matthews, N.C., is under arrest, charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon -- and is facing arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said Jones was arrested in Inwood on Wednesday at 3:41 p.m. after officers saw him getting into a vehicle on Merril Street and saw the handle of a gun sticking out of a front pants pocket. Officers arrested Jones for possession of the gun and discovered the serial number had been removed.
