Police are searching for a man captured Tuesday night on video surveillance cameras spray-painting racist graffiti at two locations in Elmont.

The incidents occurred at the Smart Stop Deli on Hempstead Turnpike at 11:47 p.m. and again 10 minutes later at J and M Service Recovery, also on Hempstead Turnpike, Nassau County police said.

Police said the cases are being considered bias incidents -- but could not say if the two businesses were targeted.

Police said the surveillance video shows the man wearing a ski cap, white nylon coat and dark-colored pants and carrying a bag with a shoulder strap.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
