Police: Man robbed by pair in Farmingdale
A 33-year-old walking on Main Street in Farmingdale was robbed at gunpoint just before midnight Monday by two men who police said stole his wallet and backpack, three cell phones, personal papers and $12 in cash.
Nassau County police said the robbery took place at 11:55 p.m. and said one of the robbers pointed a black handgun at the victim’s chest while the other threatened to hit the man with a large black flashlight.
The robbers warned the victim not to turn around and then fled south on Main Street.
The victim was not injured.
Police are now searching for the two armed robbers, both described as being about 5-foot-8 and in their late teens or early 20s. One was wearing a light-brown hoodie, while the other had black hair and was wearing a blue hoodie, police said.
