Police: Man shot several times in Hempstead Village

Hempstead Village police said a man was shot several times Friday evening.

Police said the shooting happened at about 5:45 p.m. in the vicinity of South Franklin and Booth streets.

The unidentified man was taken to Nassau University Medical Center. Police said the victim was “alert.”
