An Oceanside man has been arrested in upstate Ellenville after threatening a female acquaintance with a shotgun, State Police said Thursday.

Tracy G. Vierra, 52, was charged with first-degree unlawful imprisonment, second-degree assault and three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon -- all felonies, police said. He also was charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor.

Police said Vierra was arrested after an investigation at a hunting camp owned by Vierra in Wawarsing, police said.

Police said it was there last weekend that Vierra allegedly assaulted the woman and threatened her with a shotgun. A search of the hunting camp recovered two shotguns that had been "altered and defaced," police said.

Vierra was arraigned in the Town of Wawarsing Court and was remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court again Thursday.
