An employee at a Farmingdale plumbing supply store spotted a fake $100 bill and called 911, leading to a customer's arrest, Nassau police said.

Nassau County police said Dion Atkinson offered the fake C-note for payment at Davidson Plumbing Supply on Fulton Avenue.

Atkinson, 23, of 249th Street in Rosedale, was charged with five counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the incident at the plumbing supply house at 2:14 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

Police said those charges followed an investigation by a Crimes Against Property Squad detective and a U.S. Secret Service agent, who determined Atkinson had used counterfeit $100 bills to buy items from area businesses three times before.

Atkinson was scheduled for arraignment Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Police had previously given a wrong name for Atkinson.
