Police: Man tries to rob former boss
A Brooklyn man armed with a BB gun and wearing a ski mask tried to rob a man he used to work for on Central Avenue in Cedarhurst on Tuesday, Nassau County's Fourth Squad said.
Charles Creekmur, 24, of 116 Jefferson Ave. -- armed with his gun and hiding behind the mask -- stopped a man at about 6:15 p.m., police said.
Without taking any money from his intended victim, Creekmur then allegedly ran off through a parking lot, disposing of a jacket, the ski mask and BB gun.
Police found him a short time later at a nearby grocery store.
In a news release, police said Creekmur is a former employee of the victim.
Creekmur faces charges of attempted robbery and possession of a dangerous weapon, police said. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
