Two young men robbed a 46-year-old man Saturday as he walked in Uniondale, Nassau County police said Sunday.

The victim was heading west on Jerusalem Avenue about 10:30 p.m. when the two male suspects approached him, and one suspect asked the victim for a lighter, police said.

The victim replied no and continued.

Police said the suspects then punched the victim in the face. They threw him to the ground, and continued to kick him in the face and body as they robbed him of an undetermined amount of cash and a cellphone.

The suspects fled east on foot on Jerusalem Avenue, police said.

The victim was treated at a hospital. Police said the suspects are about 23 years old, with thin builds and thin mustaches.

Detectives said anyone with information can call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477.
