Police: Man with pitchfork attempts Roosevelt break-in

A Freeport man armed with a pitchfork tried to break into an occupied home in Roosevelt on Saturday afternoon, Nassau County police said.
Police said Michael Brown, 39, tried to break down the door of a Fulton Avenue home using a pitchfork at 3:45 p.m.
The occupant of the home, a 58-year-old woman who knew Brown, called police.
Police responded to the call and found Brown in the area on a bicycle and arrested him. He was found with marijuana in his possession, and the bicycle on which he had been riding had been reported stolen earlier that day, police said.
Police said they also found the pitchfork.
The woman was not injured.
Brown was charged with second-degree attempted burglary, unlawful possession of marijuana and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. He was scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
