A portion of Merrick Avenue in Merrick that was closed to traffic Monday morning while authorities investigated a crash that caused an SUV to overturn has reopened, Nassau County police said.

A police spokeswoman said the accident happened at about 9:25 a.m. in front of the Harold D. Fayette School on Merrick Avenue but she said there were no injuries.

“There was one person involved and he crawled out of the vehicle and refused medical attention,” the spokeswoman said.

Merrick Avenue had been closed from Midian to William streets, police said.
