Police: Motorcyclist from Lynbrook killed in Maine crash
ALFRED, Maine — A motorcyclist from Long Island was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle in Alfred, Maine, police said.
Robert Locke, 36, of Lynbrook, was killed on Monday when he lost control of his motorcycle on Route 111 and crashed while riding with a group of friends, police said. They were headed for Laconia, New Hampshire, for the annual Motorcycle Week event.
Locke swerved to avoid a vehicle and was thrown into the roadway, police said. He died shortly after arriving at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford. Police said he was wearing a helmet.
