Two people were injured in a head-on collision that left one vehicle overturned and forced the closure of a major intersection in Oceanside for about 90 minutes on Thursday, police said.

The intersection of Oceanside and Merrick roads, near South Nassau Communities Hospital, was closed after the accident, which Nassau County police said was reported at 9:13 a.m. Police said the road was reopened at about 10:40 a.m.

Police could not immediately provide more details about the crash, including the extent of any injuries.

No one was charged in the crash, police said.
