Police: Officers injured in burglary arrest

Nassau County police said two officers suffered minor injuries while arresting a Brooklyn man in a burglary Monday evening in Valley Stream.

One officer suffered a sprained left ankle, the other sprained his lower back, as the two "attempted to restrain" the suspect, who, police said, resisted arrest. The suspect, Michael Dollison, 44, of 61 Stewart St., Brooklyn, faces charges of third-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree assault and resisting arrest.

Police said Dollison broke into the offices of RPG Consultants on South Franklin Avenue not long before 10 p.m. Monday, but that during that break-in he activated an alarm -- and was "observed" on surveillance video. Police were notified and responded to the scene.

Those officers, whose identities were not released, found Dollison at the scene and arrested him, but were injured in the process, police said.

The two officers were taken to a hospital, where they were treated and later released, police said.

Dollison is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
