Police are searching for two bicycle bandits who accosted a man on a street in Roosevelt on Monday night, attacking him, punching him, knocking him to the ground -- and stealing his cellphone and wallet.
The robbery occurred on East Clinton Avenue, near Cottage Place, at 8:30 p.m., Nassau County police said.
Police did not identify the victim, other than to say he is a 57-year-old man. The victim sustained swelling to his face, but refused medical attention at the scene, police said.
The suspects were described as being in their 20s.
They fled on East Clinton, headed toward Nassau Road, after the attack.
