Police are searching for two men who stole cash from an 82-year-old woman in a distraction burglary Monday in East Norwich -- one posing as a tree-trimmer, while the other entered the house.

The burglary occurred on Allan Drive about 1:30 p.m.

Nassau County police did not immediately say how much money was taken, citing the continuing investigation.

News 12 Long Island interviewed a woman who said she was the victim and described how one suspect lured her and her husband to the yard to look at the trees while the other suspect entered the house -- stealing thousands in cash.

"The policeman said that when he [the first suspect] was talking on the walkie-talkie he was alerting his accomplice," the woman told News 12's Erin Colton Tuesday, adding: "The accomplice must have come up to the back door, in through the back door, went right to the bedroom, which they usually do, because that's where people keep cash."

The woman said she was still stunned by the burglary.

"I can't believe this," she said.
