Police: Pair robbed cabdriver at gunpoint in Roosevelt
Nassau County police said they are investigating a Roosevelt robbery on Wednesday in which two men armed with a handgun took cash and a cellphone from a cabdriver.
First Squad detectives said the two suspects pulled a black handgun, demanding cash from an All Island Taxi driver at about 4:10 a.m.
The cabdriver, 57, was waiting to pick up a fare on Matson Road when he was approached by the two men, police said.
The two took an unspecified amount of cash and a cellphone before running off on Matson Road.
The driver was not injured, police said.
One suspect is described as 18 or 19 years old, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
The other is also 18 or 19 years old and was wearing a blue-and-white striped hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
