Police: Police: Hicksville road reopens after fire

A fire at an auto repair shop closed a portion of South Broadway in Hicksville for about two hours Wednesday afternoon, Nassau County police said.

The road was closed between Bloomingdale Road and South Oyster Bay Road between about 2:30 and 4:30 p.m., police said.

A police spokeswoman said the fire was under control.

Neither the spokeswoman nor a spokesman from the Nassau County Office of the Fire Marshal was immediately able to provide more information.
