<a href="/topics//Nassau_County,_NY">Nassau</a> County police are investigating a one-car crash in Lakeview early Monday that killed a <a href="/topics//Hempstead,_NY">Hempstead</a> man. 
 Mark C. Law, 58, was driving his 1997 <a href="/topics//BMW">BMW</a> north on Peninsula Boulevard at about 1:30 a.m. when it went off the road, struck two trees and then hit a light pole at North Village Avenue, Fourth Squad detectives said. 
 Law was taken to Mercy Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 2:11 a.m., police said. 
 His car was impounded for brake and safety checks, police said.
