Police probe fatal car crash in Lakeview

Nassau County police are investigating a one-car crash in Lakeview early Monday that killed a Hempstead man.
Mark C. Law, 58, was driving his 1997 BMW north on Peninsula Boulevard at about 1:30 a.m. when it went off the road, struck two trees and then hit a light pole at North Village Avenue, Fourth Squad detectives said.
Law was taken to Mercy Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 2:11 a.m., police said.
His car was impounded for brake and safety checks, police said.
