He heard three gunshots at 2:30 in the morning, police said. Two went into a wall, another hit a pillar on his porch.

Nassau County police are trying to determine who fired the three shots early Monday at the home of a 41-year-old man on Carman Avenue in East Meadow. No shell casings were recovered at the scene.

Police said no one was injured. They said responding officers determined that two .38-caliber shots went into a wall at the house, and another shot entered the porch pillar.

Police did not give any motive for the gunfire.
