Nassau County police earlier Saturday sealed off the former Tri-County flea market building for a burglary investigation and were not allowing vendors to open.
The flea market had reopened by early afternoon.
Police would not release any more details, but a vendor said the department had a crime scene unit and several officers on site of the Levittown building on Hempstead Turnpike.
"This is a huge loss for all of us retailers in this building," said Carlos Martins, owner of a Martins Cosmetics, who was hoping to capitalize on Mother's Day shoppers.
He is one of 200 vendors who sell their wares at the building, owned by Apogee Retail Llc.
Martins said a silent alarm notified police of a break-in.
