Police probe robbery, shooting in Elmont
Nassau County police are investigating a robbery in Elmont at 8:45 p.m. Friday night.
Police said a 28-year-old man arrived at the Fifth Precinct station house with a gunshot wound to his left leg and said that he was in the driveway of his residence when he was robbed.
Police said he reported that his assailants were two men carrying handguns and dressed in dark-colored clothing and ski masks who got out of a blue, four-door, late-model Honda Accord.
They approached the victim to take his gold chain before shooting him, police said.
Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-224-TIPS.
