Police probe shots fired in W. Hempstead
Fifth Squad detectives are trying to determine who fired the gunshots that wounded two men early Friday in West Hempstead, Nassau County police said.
The victims, ages 33 and 23, were taken to nearby hospitals after police responded to a Woodfield Road residence for a report of shots fired, about 4:05 a.m.
The injuries are considered non-life-threatening, police said.
Police in a news release Friday did not say how many shots were fired or provide a reason for the incident. They did say the investigation is ongoing.
