Police are investigating whether a man who showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound early Sunday was connected to a call of shots fired at an address in Hempstead.

Hempstead Village police received a report of shots fired at 12:50 a.m. at a home on Belmont Parkway, Nassau police said. A short time later, Nassau University Medical Center officials reported that a man with a gunshot wound to his stomach arrived by a private vehicle for treatment, Nassau police said.

The man is in stable condition, and Nassau police are investigating whether the two calls are related.
