A Roosevelt man who volunteered to help the Nassau County Red Cross during Irene on Sunday faces sexual abuse charges after police said he inappropriately touched a woman seeking shelter, police said.

Anthony Henry, 25, of 57 Prospect St., was helping the nonprofit at Nassau Community College in East Garden City at 3:45 p.m. when Third Squad detectives say he touched the woman, 42, who was seeking shelter from the hurricane-turned-tropical storm.

The unidentified woman alerted security at the shelter who then notified police.

Henry was arrested on two charges of third-degree sexual abuse and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
The Red Cross could not immediately be reached for comment.
