Nassau County police and Crime Stoppers released on Wednesday a sketch of a would-be robber who fired a shot at woman in the driveway of her Inwood home.

A woman, 37, getting out of her car in the driveway of her Mervin Street home at about 7:52 p.m. on Oct 16 was attacked by the suspect and fought back, police said.

Police said the suspect demanded the victim's pocketbook. She struggled to retain it, then "pushed" the suspect who left without the bag.

Police said, however, that after the woman began screaming for help, the assailant turned around and fired one shot toward the victim.

She was not struck.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
