Police said two men who tried to burglarize an apartment in Westbury on Monday weren't hard to find.
One was an acquaintance and was arrested after the residents called him -- and asked him to return to the home, police said.
Kristopher Kaufman, 33, of 128 Land Lane, Westbury, and Andrew Sciascia, 24, of 51 Oak St., Hicksville, were arrested on charges of second-degree burglary. Both face arraignment Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
Police said Sciascia was arrested "a short time" after the victims reported the incident, called Kaufman and he returned to the house -- where he was promptly arrested.
Police said the couple had returned home at about 2:20 p.m. Monday to find Kaufman in the back yard of the Merillon Avenue residence and Sciascia inside the home. Both fled without taking anything.
