Police: Roslyn man tracked down after jumping bail
A Roslyn man who police said jumped bail after he was arrested on charges of possession of a loaded 9-millimeter handgun and crack in January 2009 was caught Monday at a home in Mineola and rearrested.
Suffolk County police Second Squad detectives, working with the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested Robert Beebe, 36, at a home on Roslyn Road at 4:15 p.m., police said.
Beebe was charged with first-degree bail jumping and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Tuesday.
Police said Beebe had recently moved to the location - but did not say what led agents and officers to that new address.
Police said Beebe was arrested on Jan. 22, 2009, after detectives found he had a pistol and four ounces of crack. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
However, police said he failed to appear for his scheduled court dates - and an arrest warrant was issued.
The status of those cases was not immediately known.
