A 43-year-old man was arrested Wednesday and charged in connection with a bank robbery in Hempstead on July 23, Nassau County police said.

Timothy Brown of Terrace Avenue, Hempstead, was arrested on Atlantic Avenue at 8:35 p.m. and charged with third-degree robbery.

Police said Brown robbed a Wachovia Bank branch on Fulton Avenue on July 23, then fled on foot. There were nine employees and two customers in the bank at the time of the robbery. No one was injured.

It was not immediately clear how much was stolen.

Brown is scheduled for arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
