A 49-year-old Seaford man was struck by a car and seriously injured Wednesday as he attempted to cross Sunrise Highway in Seaford, police said.

The name of the victim was not released.

Nassau County police said he was transported to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, where he remains in serious condition.

The driver of the car, identified only as a 44-year-old man from Massapequa, remained at the scene and was not charged.

Police said the accident occurred near Washington Avenue at 12:55 a.m. and remains under investigation.
