Police are searching for two men who "forcibly" stole the pocketbook from a woman Saturday night in Hicksville.

They said the robbery matches "a pattern of robberies in the area" - a pattern that, if in fact connected, has now seen a dozen or more women robbed by the duo since Oct. 23.

Nassau County police said how the robbery was committed - and, descriptions of the two robbers - is consistent with a pattern noted in previous robberies in Merrick, North Bellmore, Baldwin, East Meadow, Levittown, Wantagh and even Elmont. One of the robbers is described as being between 5-4 and 5-6, the other about 6-foot tall, police said.

The men attack a lone woman, taking her pocketbook and then fleeing the scene.

The latest robbery took place on Sackett Street at 8:09 p.m., police said. The two men approached the woman, stole the pocketbook and fled.

Police said the woman was not injured in the attack.
