Police seek gunman in Hempstead shooting
Nassau County Third Squad police are looking for a man they said shot a 22-year-old in the leg Sunday morning.
Police said the shooting happened at 12:15 a.m. in Hempstead. According to detectives on the case, the victim was standing on Linden Place when he was approached by a man who displayed a small-caliber gun, then shot the victim in the leg.
The gunman fled in an unknown direction, said police, who did not have further details on his description.
Police said the victim was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
