Police seek Mineola bank robber
Nassau County police are looking for a man who robbed the TD Bank branch in Mineola Tuesday morning.
The robbery occurred at 8:35 a.m. at the bank branch on Jericho Turnpike. The man handed the teller a demand note that "threatened force" if he didn't get money, then fled with cash, police said.
Police said there were six employees inside the bank at the time. No other customers were present and no one was injured, police said.
Police said the man was about 5-foot-7 or 5-foot-8 with a stocky build and was wearing dark clothing, including a dark baseball cap, and was carrying a black plastic garbage bag.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
