Police were continuing to look Monday night for two burglars who entered a New Cassel residence through an unlocked side door but ran off when a woman in the home got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night.

The incident occurred Friday at 2:30 a.m. on Elizabeth Street, Nassau County police said. Police said the two burglars fled after being startled by the woman. No one was injured in the incident and nothing was taken, they said.

Police ask anyone with information regarding the burglary to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
