Police seek three men after Valley Stream robbery
Fifth Squad detectives are looking for three men in a white van who stole a purse and cell phone from a woman Friday morning in Valley Stream, Nassau County police said.
Detectives said a 20-year-old woman was walking near Ocean Avenue and Garfield Avenue at about 5:35 a.m. when she encountered the men standing near the van.
As she took the cell phone from her purse, one of the men snatched it, police said. The woman started to run across the street, and another man grabbed at her purse, breaking a strap and causing her to fall.
The three men fled in the minivan, with the purse, traveling east on Garfield Avenue.
Police said the woman was not hurt.
